Canvas basics and identify the company

  1. Setup concept of canvases, and introduce Business Model Canvas
  2. Have learners identify the company (Tesla and AirBnB) by looking at two sample Business Model Canvases

  1. In their groups, they will look at a blank canvas and embeded at links that will take them to the specific sections that will teach the Business Model Canvas there will be more information about that section along with a brief video.
  2. Once they review the learning content, they will go back to their blank canvases and build out the section. Keep repeating this process until the canvas is completed.
  3. If there are teams that need assistance, jump into their rooms and offer some coaching, or bring them to another teams' board that is a bit more complete to help spur their ideas.
  4. Recap the activity by coaching the teams through good charcteristics of a Business Model Canvas and facilitate a conversation with your learners.

Time

Time management is critical here. There is a lot of content to get through and the learners will be on a self-directed pace. Be sure to check in with the rooms frequently to keep them focused and coached in the right direction.
